Botanical Drawing

Working from supplied specimen, students will get an introduction on how to create a botanically-accurate tonal rendering in graphite. Through the use of a range of different density pencil leads and the observation of highlights, reflected light, shadow and cast shadow, students will learn how to illustrate value differences and how to portray surface texture and details to get a truly realistic drawing of their subject.
