The New Bedford Whaling Museum is the world's most comprehensive museum devoted to the global story of whales and whaling. The Museum houses an extensive collection of art and artifacts relating to the whaling industry, including the world's largest ship model; and four species of complete whale skeletons; including a Blue whale, the world's largest mammal; plus a mother and fetus of the highly endangered Northern Atlantic Right whale. The Museum is a compelling destination that inspires all visitors to reflect on the complex issues that shaped the past, remain critical today, and inform a sustainable future.
