Twenty-six years after his famous "Midnight Ride", at age 65, Paul Revere moved from Boston to Canton, MA, to build a mill to roll copper sheets, thus creating a new industry that had profound technological and historical significance. Copper sheets manufactured at the mill covered the Massachusetts State House and the hull of the USS Constitution, while brass products included artillery and hundreds of half-ton bells that rang throughout the nation.
The site is now the Paul Revere Heritage Site which features a 9-acre public park along the Neponset River with waterfalls, paved walkways, interpretive signage, an award-winning restaurant, and two restored 19th century buildings built on a site populated by Revere and his family - the Copper Rolling Mill and the Historic Horse Barn, home to a proto-museum of history, technology, and learning.
