Welcome to The Bell Inn & Tavern - a boutique inn, restaurant, and speakeasy all inside a 19th century mansion.

This property has a long and storied history.

The original building on property was The Bell Tavern, a colonial gathering spot that became a notable meeting location during the American Revolutionary War. Local minutemen gathered in the courtyard before marching off to the war's Battles of Lexington and Concord.

In the 1890s, J.B. Thomas acquired the site and constructed this mansion which served as the Thomas family home for nearly two decades until it was sold to the O'Shea family.

After changing hands several times over the years, local developer Eddie Greeley and restaurateur Jeff Cala acquired the property in 2020, bringing a vision to revitalize the property to its former elegance.

Today you will find a truly unique experience: a carefully-curated menu featuring New England comfort food, a one-of-a-kind speakeasy bar, and 8 luxurious hotel rooms.

Whether you're a local or a visitor, it's our goal to make you feel at home here at The Bell Inn & Tavern. We feel that delicious food, good company, and a cozy place to rest your head will do the trick.
