Winter Garden Skating
Thanksgiving – February 2017, City Hall Plaza, Boston
City Hall Plaza will be transformed into a Winter Garden with holiday vendors and an 11,000 sf skating rink open through February.

Join the Maria Mitchell Assocation’s Field Ornithologist, Ginger Andrews on an exciting night birding experience-the Owl Prowl.  After visiting the demonstration Barn Owl nest box you will sites known for owls, ply recordings of their calls and wait for a response sighting.

Bay State Winter Games
The 2017 Bay State Winter Games will celebrate their 33rd year this year.  Athletes competing in Figure Skating, Alpine Skiing, Masters Ice Hockey, Bowling, Cross Country Skiing and Snow Shoe Racing will represent Massachusetts as well as New York, Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont and Rhode Island. Participants in the Winter Games represent several hundred different communities and range in age from 8 – 70.  In addition to sports competition, the Winter Games weekend will also feature a Figure Skating Show

2017 Thunderbolt Ski Race
Saturday, March 4th   11am – 1pm, Mt. Greylock, Adams
There will be busses shuttling spectators from downtown Adams to the Greylock Glen from 9 AM to 3 PM.
The Thunderbolt Ski Race is limited to a maximum of 100 racers and will be open to competitors of all abilities ages 18 and up. The Race itself is a time trial with the following categories: Alpine, Snowboard, Telemark, Women’s Open, The Ascent, Women’s Ascent, Queen of the Mountain, and King of the Mountain.
