BOSTON – The Massachusetts Sports Marketing Office has published a comprehensive sports venue directory listing dozens of sports facilities across the Commonwealth. The resource guide is designed for sports promoters and event planners interested in bringing sports competitions to the Bay State.
The sports facilities described in the Guide range from large-scale venues like Gillette Stadium, TD Garden and Fenway Park to mid-sized and small venues at colleges and in municipalities across the state. The booklet is divided into the state’s six regions, including Greater Boston, Cape Cod & Islands, Central Massachusetts, North of Boston & Greater Merrimack Valley, South of Boston and Western Massachusetts.
“Massachusetts has a winning tradition of welcoming visitors from around the world,” said Nam Pham, Assistant Secretary for Business Development and International Trade. “We offer easy access from 75 domestic and 53 international direct flights in and out of Logan International Airport, and quick and dependable ground transportation. Our hospitality industry stands ready to make your visit affordable, engaging and memorable.”
The 12-page booklet is being distributed free at domestic and international consumer and sports industry trade shows and mailed to each of the Massachusetts sports venues.

Massachusetts is known as the Birthplace of Basketball and Volleyball and is home to the Boston Marathon, founded in 1897 and the oldest US marathon, and the Head of the Charles Regatta, the largest collegiate regatta in the country.
The 17-time NBA champion Boston Celtics and the 6-time Stanley Cup champion Boston Bruins each play their home games at the TD Garden in Boston’s North End. Gillette Stadium is home to the 4-time NFL Super Bowl champion New England Patriots and the 2007 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup champion New England Revolution. The 8-time World Series champion Boston Red Sox play at historic Fenway Park. The Commonwealth also boasts hundreds of collegiate venues, parks and local recreation facilities.
