Launched by the Massachusetts Office of Travel & Tourism (MOTT), the listings run through Labor Day, September 7, 2015 and feature museums, concerts, learning events, walking tours, outdoor movies, food festivals and more – all free of charge. Visit massvacation.com/free for complete details.
Events listed online are organized by the state’s six tourism regions: Greater Boston, North of Boston and Greater Merrimack Valley, South of Boston, Cape Cod & The Islands, Central Massachusetts and Western Massachusetts.
Topping this week’s “Wicked Free Summer Fun” is the 2nd “Outside the Box Performing Arts Festival” on Boston Common from July 14-19, 2015. The six-day fest features 70 acts, including contestants from the hit TV show The Voice, the Gin Blossoms and singer Kacey Musgraves.
“Wicked Free Summer Fun” also lists 70 iconic museums and cultural venues that offer Free Fun Fridays through the Highland Street Foundation. Venues range from the Franklin Park Zoo, Cape Ann Museum and Old Sturbridge Village to the Emily Dickinson Museum, Woods Hole Science Museum and New Bedford Whaling Museum.
