This two-part workshop is fifth in a series of intensive animal sculpting sessions offered by artist Susan Halls.
In Part One (May 4, 2-5 pm) we will study birds in all their forms - from the humble sparrow to the wisest of owls or a bird of your imagination. Seated, standing, or nesting. our aim is to build an interpretation, not a realistic copy, out of clay. Then our creations head off to the kiln.
In Part Two (May 13, 6-8 pm) we will apply stains, paints, inks and glazes to the fired clay surface to give your BIRD a permanent colorful finish.
All techniques will be demonstrated and personal assistance offered. The $75 fee includes tools, materials, and one firing. No experience necessary.
Register at the bookstore or via the store's web site.
