Rare and newly found items from Lizzie Borden's life and trial are on display in this unique exhibit at the Fall River Historical Society, which maintains the world's largest collection of Borden case artifacts. Some items were held until recently in private collections in Europe, Asia, and North America, and all have impeccable provenance. The exhibit includes: the head of the hatchet alleged to be the murder weapon; post-mortem photos of Abby and Andrew Borden; the personal notebooks of defense attorney Andrew Jackson Jennings; examples of Lizzie Borden's correspondence and personal possessions; the only known photo of Borden taken at Maplecroft, her home following her release from jail; and the only original trial exhibits still in existence. Admission is $8 for adults and $6 for children. Hourly tours from 9 to 3 Tuesday through Friday, excluding the noon hour. Additional weekend hours from June through September with hourly tours from 1 to 4. For more information please visit or call 508-679-1071, ext. 1 or 2.
