RambleFest offers two days of fun during the Berkshires' peak fall foliage. The annual outdoor festival, on Sunday, October 13 offers live music, food, local beer and wine, kids activities such as pumpkin painting, a toasty campfire, historic train rides, as well as outdoor recreation, farm and craft vendors. Admission is free. Noon to 5:00. On the morning before the festival, the Berkshire Running Center is holding the RambleFest 15K Two Person Relay Race along the scenic Ashuwillticook Rail Trail. The finish line is just a short walk to RambleFest. On Columbus Day, October 14, join the 52nd Greylock Ramble. It's a hike to the summit of Mount Greylock at 3,491 feet. Free shuttles are available from downtown Adams to the base of the Cheshire Harbor Trail, the easiest path to the summit. At the summit, you'll find spectacular views and a historic district including Bascom Lodge where food, drink and souvenirs are available.
