Take a closer look at the Clark's collection during Looking and Lunching, a half-hour discussion focusing on one work from the collection followed by continued discussion over lunch with the presenter and fellow art lovers. This month, join Alexis Goodin, curator of Turner and Constable: The Inhabited Landscape, for an in-depth discussion of one of the Clark's iconic paintings, J. M. W. Turner's Rockets and Blue Lights (Close at Hand) to Warn Steamboats of Shoal Water. Goodin discusses the painting's subject and situates it within broader concerns of the time, specifically maritime safety. Free with gallery admission. Plan to arrive early to pre-order and purchase your meal, or bring your own lunch. Limited seating available. Meet at the admissions desk in the Clark Center.
