Enter a maze of rooms alternating between light and dark, decorated like stage sets evoking America's past based on a variety of themes. A National Historic Landmark, Beauport was the summer home of Henry Davis Sleeper, one of America's first professional interior designers. Programs include tea on the terrace, fireworks over Gloucester Harbor, and specialty tours. Museum shop. Open late May - mid-October, Tuesday - Saturday. Tours on the hour, 10 am - 5 pm, with the last tour at 4 pm. Beauport, the Sleeper-McCann House, is one of thirty-six historic properties owned and operated by Historic New England.
