Mary O'Malley Park

Chelsea's largest park offers spectacular views of the Boston skyline and the Tobin Bridge. Bordered by Island End River on one side, and the Mystic River on another, its acres of green lawns and shade trees are perfect for a wide variety of activities. Amenities include a well-appointed playground, tennis courts, walking/jogging paths and picnic pavillions. In addition to hundreds of trees, including the famous willow tree, nature lovers will notice wildlife, especially aquatic birds such as egrets, ducks, cormorants, and birds of prey, such as red-tailed hawks. The stunning "Fish" sculpture by William Wainwright is tucked away amongst a stand of trees near the water's edge. Mary O'Malley Park is the site of the Annual Kite Festival sponsored by the Friends of Mary O'Malley Park.
