Built in 1834, this National Landmark Greek Revival mansion is the best example of the "brave houses and flowery gardens" described by Herman Melville in "Moby-Dick." The period rooms and exhibits in the Museum chronicle the social, economic and political evolution of the city, through the families who lived and worked at the House. Open year-round: April - December, Mon - Sat 10:00 am - 4:00 pm & Sunday noon - 4:00 pm; January - March, Mon- Sat 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
