Scargo Pottery was opened in the summer of 1952. The gallery and studio that stand today represent a kind of work in progress that has evolved and changed over the years to accommodate the innovations and ideas that are the products of perseverance. The studio has been host to numerous apprentices over the years, including the four Holl sisters - Tina, Kim, Mary & Sarah - who presently comprise the family business, along with potter Meden Parker who also loads and fires the kilns. We make all of our own clay and glazes from raw materials and fire to the stoneware temperature of 2400 degrees. We welcome you to openly explore our shop and working studio. We always welcome questions! All functional work is dishwasher / microwave safe.
