Central Massachusetts will soon be beaming with LGBTQ love and support as Worcester Pride Week takes over the Common.
Upbeat music, rainbow flags, dancing crowds, and a whole lot of awesomeness are in store. Festivities will be in full swing from Labor Day weekend and through September 10th.
Annual highlights include the Kick Off Dinner, Pageant, and Pride Parade & Festival. Set your sights on Worcester to join in the celebration with these fantastic events:
Sept. 4 – Pride Show and Reception
Join Worcester Pride as they launch their month long pride art show at Electric Haze in Worcester Massachusetts. The reception will be open to the public. Cash bar.
Sept. 7 – Pride Kick Off Dinner
Reserved seating only for the Worcester Pride kick off dinner at Citizen Wine & Cheese Bar. Tickets are $75 and include cocktails and appetizers before dinner from 6 PM – 7 PM. Dinner follows from 7 PM – 10 PM.
Sept. 8 – Pride Flag Raising & Reception
Parade Grand Marshall will be present along with returning Grand Marshals and city officials. From 3 PM – 4 PM at City Hall in Worcester. At 4:30 PM head over to Lock 50 on Water St. for complimentary apps and a cash bar. Hop on the free shuttle bus to the Burns Bridge lighting ceremony at Regatta Point. From 7 PM – 8 PM the bridge will light up with Pride – a historic event not to be missed!
Sept. 9 – LGBTQ Pride Pageant
At Fiddlers Green in Worcester from 7 PM – 10 PM, Miss Gay Worcester (in drag), Mr. Worcester Pride, and Ms. Worcester Pride will participate in a special Pride Pageant.
Sept. 10 – Pride Parade & Festival
As part of the Citywide Festival, Worcester Pride will start the day at 11 AM – 12 PM with a parade from Institute Park, down Main St., and ending at Worcester Common. The Pride Festival runs from 12 PM – 5 PM followed by parties, a youth pride dance and an after-party until 1 AM.
Sept. 11 – Recovery Brunch
Join Worcester Pride for a delicious brunch at Lock 50 (and perhaps a cocktail or two!) and share your stories and pictures of Pride 2016. Cost is $30 for buffet. Cash bar.
