In less than one year’s time, the Inn at Hastings Park has made quite a name for itself.
After opening in February of 2014, the inn has drawn rave reviews and already earned its way into Relais & Châteaux, one of the world’s most prestigious hospitality organizations, making it the only Boston-area lodging to do so.
The inn is located in Lexington, which is just 15 miles from Boston, and was, for those who snoozed through history class, the site of the first battle during the Revolutionary War.
Safe to say, the Brits and the colonists and never had it this good.
The Inn at Hastings Park is a boutique inn, made up of three gracefully restored historic buildings. Sandwiched between Hastings Park and the Lexington Green along Mass Ave., the inn is ideal for history-interested travelers, as some of the first shots during the 13 Colonies’ battle for independence were fired just a few minutes down the road.
Before exploring, though, it’s a good idea to get settled at the inn, which really isn’t any trouble at all.

For some time with a book or just a quick rest, the parlor is an excellent and welcoming spot. Along with the parlor, there are a number of cozy sitting rooms here and there, supplying visitors with no shortage of spots to relax while taking in the ambiance of the building.
When it’s time to turn in, guests have a choice of either guest rooms or suites, each of which are beautifully appointed with unique décor. All of the accommodations include fluffy robes, flat-screen TVs and Wi-Fi (which is free throughout the building), as well as Frette towels and homespun blankets, so there really are no bad choices here.
There is, naturally, much more in the way of amenities. The Inn at Hastings Park additionally offers coffee in the morning, bike racks, parking free of charge, a variety of toiletry items upon request and complimentary breakfast.
Ah yes, breakfast. If there’s one more thing that seals the deal for The Inn at Hastings Park, it’s Artistry on the Green. Since opening, the in-inn restaurant has duly impressed all comers with its simple-yet-sumptuous menu, which revolves around New England mainstays. Breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner are all available, with plenty of variation.

Outside of the inn’s comfy interior and enticing eatery, Lexington and the surrounding area have plenty of other entertaining ways to keep occupied. The battle green and Minuteman National Historical Park head up a list of attractions for history fans. The Minuteman Bikeway is ideal for visitors who like their time outside, with plenty of kids’ fun in the vicinity, too.
Nearby Drumlin Farm is a great family spot during the warmer months
