Looking for some adrenaline-filled fun this summer? Look no further than Zoar Outdoor in picturesque Charlemont, Massachusetts. We offer whitewater rafting, zipline canopy tours, whitewater kayaking and canoeing instruction, rock climbing, mountain biking, and a variety of lodging options for your adventure getaway. With group rates, a family-friendly environment and great deals on multi-day packages, we’re happy to be your adventure destination.
We’ve been running whitewater rafting trips since 1989, taking advantage of the beautiful Deerfield River right in our backyard. This dam-released river has several sections of amazing whitewater.

Our Zoar Gap trip is an introduction to whitewater rafting for ages 7 and up: this ten-mile stretch of river offers class II whitewater with an exciting class III rapid right in the middle.
If you’re looking for something more advanced, our Dryway trip is an exciting run of class III and IV whitewater for ages 14 and up.
If high-flying adventure is more your style, try our zipline canopy tour. This three-hour tour travels down scenic Hawk Mountain and includes eleven ziplines, three rappels, and two sky bridges. It’s a wonderful way to enjoy the scenery of the Berkshire hills. The canopy tour is open to anyone aged 10 and above, with some weight restrictions.

If you want to learn to enjoy the river in a whole new way, you can take one of our whitewater kayaking classes. Our top-notch instructors teach clinics for all levels of experience – from complete novices to advanced paddlers – and can help you learn to tap into the river like never before.
Looking for land-based adventure? Try a rock climbing class or enjoy Charlemont’s extensive network of intermediate and advanced mountain bike trails.
With our variety of lodging options, many people choose to turn their adventure into a multi-day getaway. The beautiful Hawk Mountain Lodge has a selection of rooms with shared or private baths. If you want something a little more rustic, our cabin tents are a perfect mix between camping and staying indoors: each cabin tent is set on a wooden deck and is equipped with four cots, a gas lantern, a gas grill, and a comfortable porch. We also have five tent sites available, if you want to camp.
Don’t let your summer fly by without taking advantage of the wonderful adventure opportunities right in Charlemont, the Outdoor Adventure Capital of New England. We can’t wait to see you here at Zoar Outdoor!
