ICONIC THANKSGIVING EXPERIENCES HAPPEN IN
MASSACHUSETTS
The Best of the Season Begins and Ends in
Massachusetts
BOSTON, November 4, 2012 - Nothing is quite as authentic as
Massachusetts for Thanksgiving. Plymouth is home to where the
tradition began 390 years ago when the Pilgrims and the Native
Wampanoag tribe celebrated harvest and shared a meal. The
Commonwealth continues the celebration during the entire month of
November with holiday fairs, celebrations and harvest events across
the state. The Massachusetts Office of Travel and Tourism (MOTT)
invites visitors and residents alike to explore the iconic
Thanksgiving experiences that Massachusetts has to offer.
From Provincetown to the Berkshires, you will find living history
museums, quintessential villages and farms that transport you back
in time for a unique holiday experience. Visit Plimoth Plantation
or Old Sturbridge Village and smell the aroma of feasts in
preparation, discover Native American practices once taught to
early settlers and enjoy the natural beauty that surrounds the
experience.
Massachusetts’ farm stands and farmers markets offer the
perfect ingredients for your Thanksgiving feast, and the Bay
State’s cranberry growers are boasting one of their best
production years ever. Additionally, local wineries and breweries
offer fantastic options for toasting the holidays. Truro Vineyards
of Cape Cod offers Cranberry Red, a bold red Beaujolais character
blended with delicate Cape Cod cranberries. And Brewer Scott
Craumer from Berkshire County-based Barrington Breweryrecommends
their Rhop Ale, a light English beer featuring locally grown
hops.
