Description:
Breathtaking flowers bloom in the galleries during our
annual Flora in Winter four day fundraiser. Skilled
arrangers from across the region create captivating
and imaginative interpretations of artworks in virtually
every gallery in the Museum. This weekend is also
your last chance to view our highly acclaimed
exhibition, Kennedy to Kent State: Images of a
Generation, and we have included some fun
programs for the weekend inspired by the exhibition.

This year Euphoria transports you back to the 60s
and 70s for a groovy night of hors d'oeuvres, cash
bar, and hip tunes inspired by the exhibition Kennedy
to Kent State. TEN31 Productions, back by popular
demand, will amaze you as these performance artists
morph into fantastical topiaries and rock stars. You
will definitely feel the power of the flower!
WOOcard Flora package cost: $82 ($120 value)
WAM, Tower Hill Botanic garden and the Flying
Rhino Cafe have partnered to offer 2 general
admissions to WAM + THBg during Flora and a $50
gift card to Flying Rhino. get your Flora package at
any of the participating sites. Not valid for Flora
Euphoria or Tower Hill's Concert.
Demonstration: Interpretive Challenge Class
from the Male Perspective!
Friday, February 1, 3-4:30pm
Renaissance Court
Free with Museum admission, no RSVP required
Watch and learn as a select group of male arrangers
craft spontaneous floral designs inspired by a
sculpture in the Renaissance Court. The challenge:
the arrangers do not know which artwork, floral
materials or container they will be interpreting or
using beforehand, and they have to finish their
arrangement within the allotted time. The finished
arrangements will be on view for the duration of
Flora and will be raffled off on Sunday, February 3rd.

Lunch, slide show, demonstration and tour.
Begin the afternoon with a boxed lunch followed
by a demonstration by master floral designer, Ruth
Loiseau. Ruth will take you on a personal tour of The
White House through her flower design work with five
administrations: Presidents Ronald Reagan, george
H.W. Bush, William J. Clinton, george W. Bush and
Barack Obama. Eight flower arrangements similar to
those created for The White House will be made in
front of your eyes and raffled off - this is not to be
missed! You will then join a docent and tour the
galleries learning inside details about the art and
arrangements at Flora. Come early and stay late --
take in the expansive collection, the Kennedy to Kent
State photography exhibition and the wonders of Flora.

The Clark Bars from Clark University and
the Shrewsbury High School Women's Choir
under the direction of Michael Lapomardo will
fill the Renaissance Court with memorable
musical selections, including those from the
60s and 70s to commemorate the final day
of our Kennedy to Kent State exhibition.
