ArtsEmerson: The World On Stage presents Hannah And Her Sisters. Woody Allen won an Oscar for Best Screenplay for his episodic portrait of three sisters that begins and ends with a family Thanksgiving. Allen stars as the ex-husband of Hannah (Mia Farrow) married to an accountant (Michael Caine) with designs on her sister Lee (Barbara Hershey) while her other sister, Holly, (Dianne Wiest) struggles with her approaching middle age. Time Out London proclaimed that the film's "sharp wit sits well against a tender exploration of life's messiness and a joie de vivre that marks this as one of Allen's warmest pictures."
