Drawn to Excellence features 86 drawings from the distinguished collection of a Smith alumna renowned for the exemplary quality of its holdings. This exhibition provides a unique opportunity to see excellent examples of draftsmanship as well as the range of styles and uses of drawings during four centuries of artistic production in Europe. Drawn to Excellence focuses primarily on French and Italian sheets from the fifteenth to the early nineteenth century, charting the use of drawing by some of the most accomplished artists from the Renaissance through Romanticism. Featured artists include Agnolo Bronzino, Annibale Carracci, Eugene Delacroix, Jean-Honore Fragonard, Giovanni Battista Tiepolo, and Giorgio Vasari, among others.
