Join us at the historic Vilna Shul in downtown Boston as we welcome librarians Linda Stern and Helaine Davis for a very special Mother's Day bagel brunch and presentation. Who was the first mother elected to the Boston school committee? Who was a "mistress of disguises" when she repeatedly entered Jordan Marsh to organize the clerks? Who was one of the first American nutritionists who linked proper diet with good health? Who was known as: "The Last of the Red Hot Mamas" and began her career performing in blackface? Learn answers to these questions and more! Following the presentation, stay at the Shul for a fun and interactive guided tour of the building and learn why the historic site is one of Boston's architectural treasures. This event is co-sponsored by the Boston Women's Heritage Trail and the Vilna Shul. Cost: Free, but donations are welcome
