Description:
Artist and filmmaker Roberto Mighty will show his groundbreaking short film, First Contact, and discuss the film and an accompanying multimedia exhibit. Through site-specific projections, landscape photography, high-definition video, forest audio recordings, historic voiceover texts and music, First Contact studies the thoughts and feelings of 17th-century peoples as they struggled to reconcile opposing notions about land use. Join us to learn about early interactions between European newcomers and the indigenous peoples who lived here first. $6; FREE FOR OSMH MEMBERS
