ArtsEmerson: The World On Stage presents Point Break. Johnny Utah (Keanu Reeves), a young hot-shot FBI agent, is sent undercover to investigate a gang of surfers who are suspected to be connected to a series of bank robberies. As Utah begins to integrate himself within the group, he falls under the spell of their charismatic, thrill-seeking leader Bodhi (Patrick Swayze). In this gang, there are no limits. Drawing on a pulp fiction aesthetic and unbelievable circumstances, director Kathryn Bigelow offers a wild, visceral ride for those who are up to the challenge. With a weighted cast including Keanu Reeves, Patrick Swayze and Gary Busey, this cult film has its fair share of twists and turns and packs a definite punch.
