Description:
A Lowell Lecture Series Presentation. Free and open to the public. Dr. Sara Lawrence-Lightfoot will present a view that draws its contours from the African-American historic journey of liberation, and focuses on the ways that respect creates equality, empathy and connection in all kinds of relationships. Among Dr. Lawrence-Lightfoot's many honors are the prestigious MacArthur prize fellowship and the Emily Hargroves Fisher endowed chair at Harvard University. Upon her retirement, that chair becomes the Sara Lawrence-Lightfoot endowed chair, making her the first African-American woman in Harvard's history to have an endowed professorship named in her honor.
