Meal Makeovers for Busy Families

Dates: Tue, Nov 6, 2012
Times: 1pm

Description:
Liz Weiss is a busy mom of two who understands the challenges of feeding families well and getting nutritious meals on the table quickly. Liz will share her secret pantry "switches" that every parent should have in their back pocket and discuss easy makeovers for beverages, main meals, and snacks. To that end, she'll talk to the group about added sugars in soft drinks, how to create a refreshing fruit smoothie, and how to mix up a batter for mini pumpkin muffins. Samples will be available for tasting and parents will go home with a copy of her book. Liz will provide ideas for adding kid appeal to fruits, veggies, whole grains, and main meals and will offer tips for getting picky eaters of all ages to try a variety of nutritious new foods. Liz Weiss is the author of "No Whine with Dinner" and "The Moms' Guide to Meal Makeovers". She is a registered dietitian who champions good nutrition and kid-friendly recipes on her blog, Meal Makeover.
