ArtsEmerson: The World On Stage presents The Artist. In this love letter to classic black and white silent films, two performers find their careers moving in different directions with the arrival of talking pictures. As silent movie star George Valentin (Jean Dujardin) begins to fade away from the public's interest in late-1920s Hollywood, young dancer and up-and-comer Peppy Miller (B���©r���©nice Bejo) decides to save him. A delightful story told with humor, romance, elegance...and all without spoken dialogue. A visually stunning film, it won Oscars for Best Picture, Director and Actor in 2012.
