Join lecturer Sara Jonsberg for an illustrated talk focusing on the mutually supportive relationship in the early 20th century between the City of Holyoke and Mt. Holyoke College in South Hadley. Mary Emma Woolley, President of MHC from 1901 to 1937, spoke up for improved opportunities for education of the working people and immigrants, especially for children, throughout her career and encouraged students at the college to be involved in the community through teaching and other forms of outreach.
