Times: Saturday at 8 PM, Sunday at 4 PM
Description:
With Charles Ives' vivid memories of his youth, Oliver Knussen's "reflections of an unwilling grownup", and works by two of history's greatest child prodigies, Chameleon Arts Ensemble celebrates the freedom of childhood and the limitless possibilities of unfettered imagination. The program features Mendelssohn's Viola Sonata and Camille Saint-Saens' Piano Quartet, Op. 41 alongside Knussen's Hums & Songs of Winnie the Pooh for soprano & chamber ensemble, Ives' Violin Sonata No. 4, subtitled "Children's Day at the Camp Meeting," and Victoria Bond's Hot Air for woodwind quintet, a musical rendering of Jonathan Swift's classic tale Gulliver's Travels.
