From the Orientation Center, National Park Service rangers will take you on tours of Friendship, Salem's own three-masted tall ship; the Custom House, where Nathaniel Hawthorne "found" The Scarlet Letter; the Derby House, home of Salem's most famous merchant; and the Narbonne House, a middle-class dwelling that was continuously occupied for 300 years.
