If your interest in sports goes beyond the diamond, stadium, court, or ice, Massachusetts still has plenty of sport events to watch, or for the adventurous, to join. The Head of the Charles Regatta, where crew teams from all over the world race down the Charles River, is almost like a huge multicultural festival with some boat races. Cyclists do their thing for a cause with the Pan-Mass Challenge series of bicycle road races, which annually raises millions of dollars for cancer research through the Jimmy Fund. Finally, if 26.2 miles seems like no big deal, try your hand (feet?) at the Boston Marathon, the world’s oldest marathon. If it does seem like a big deal, join the hundreds of thousands of bystanders that would agree with you.
