Massachusetts boasts musical experiences for all tastes — everything from the Boston Symphony Orchestra, and a vibrant local jazz scene to a rich history rooted in rock and roll (a nod to Aerosmith!) — and in many cases, these musical performances can be found in intimate, visually-splendid locations.

At the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum, nestled in Boston’s Fenway area, Sunday afternoons and select Thursday evenings in Calderwood Hall are filled with classical performances from renowned musicians and outstanding emerging artists in their Spring 2013 Concert Series.
Host to an intimate collection of fine and decorative art, the Gardner is truly an innovative gem for contemporary artists, musicians, and scholars. Music has been an integral part of the Gardner’s experience since opening in 1903;  today under the direction of Music Director Scott Nickrenz, you will find the likes of classical, jazz, and contemporary performances.
A world-class, 300-seat space, Calderwood Hall features three balcony levels around a unique central performance area with stage-level seating that makes for a can’t-miss, musical setting like no other.
The Gardner’s Spring 2013 Concert Series is split up into three parts: Sunday Concert Series, Jazz at the Gardner, and Avant Gardner; the latter two fall on select Thursday nights through the spring.
