Some of Nature's most spectacular beauty is reserved for the landscape at night. And at night, the camera allows us to record phenomena we are physically incapable of seeing. Long exposures capture celestial objects in motion, creating metaphors for the passage of time and seasons. They register incredible detail and rich colors. Learn how to capture the mystery, wonder and magic of this little explored facet of the photographic landscape. The photographer can't be sure what he or she will create, and that's part of the allure and the excitement! Night shooting specialist Mark Bowie, author of The Light of Midnight: Photographing the Landscape at Night, will lead nighttime field sessions to photograph a variety of subjects, both wild and civilized: the ocean, beaches, dunes, coastal waterways, lighthouses and quaint fishing villages.
