Cotuit Center for the Arts presents two performances of poetry by the nationally recognized Excelano Project on Saturday, January 25, 2014 at 5:00 PM and 8:00 PM. The Excelano Project is a spoken word collective based at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. These student poets have been featured at the White House, on the HBO documentary "Brave New Voices," at the renowned Nuyorican Poets Cafe, on Broadway, and around the world. Tickets are $10 in advance, and $15 at the door with a limited number of premium reserved tables with wine also available. Additional donations are welcome. 100% of the ticket sales will benefit two Cape Cod based nonprofits: Independence House, whose mission is to help all domestic and sexual violence survivors by creating opportunities to find safety and become empowered; and WE CAN, which supports Cape Cod women in life transitions with services that bring increased opportunity, self-sufficiency, and lasting positive change.
