Acclaimed author Francesca Segal will guest star in a very special winter reading on January 23rd. Segal, author of "The Innocents," a novel inspired by Wharton's "The Age of Innocence," will read from "New Year's Day (the Seventies)" in the Drawing Room on the eve of Wharton's 152nd birthday. "New Year's Day," which was written to capture the essence of the 1870s, is the last novella in Old New York, a collection considered to be the prequel to "The Age of Innocence." Beverages will be available for purchase. In consideration of the wintery weather, parking will be available at the Main House. Tickets are $5 for general admission and free to members.
