Alloy Orchestra is a three man musical ensemble, writing and performing live accompaniment to classic silent films. Working with an outrageous assemblage of peculiar objects, they thrash and grind soulful music from unlikely sources. An unusual combination of found percussion and state-of-the-art electronics gives the Orchestra the ability to create any sound imaginable. Utilizing their famous "rack of junk" and electronic synthesizers, the group generates beautiful music in a spectacular variety of styles. Alloy Orchestra will collaborate with the Worcester Art Museum to create two musical labels for artworks in the [remastered] exhibition, a reinstallation of the Baroque galleries. The original musical score they create to highlight The Vision of St. Jerome and Veronese's Venus Disarming Cupid will be performed live at the museum. They will also perform improvisational music in the museum's spectacular Renaissance Court, creating a unique piece of musical art in response to this magical space and its art. Join us for this exciting first at the museum. www.alloyorchestra.com
