AIFF's Rich Culturally Diverse Film Line-up Arlington, MA -- The Arlington International Film Festival (AIFF) will open on Wednesday, October 23rd with the film Heart of Sky, Heart of Earth by Directors, Frauke Sandig and Eric Black will screen on Wednesday evening. It has won numerous awards internationally. Beautifully filmed over years in Guatemala and Chiapas, Mexico, it speaks to the ancient Maya belief that this present world as we know it, will end and a new cycle arise after 5125 years. Heart of Sky Heart of Earth allows the Maya of today to answer, following six young Maya through their daily and ceremonial life, revealing their determination to resist the destruction of their culture and environment. Each story touches upon a facet of the current global crisis and their cosmovision, in which all life is sacred and interconnected, presents a deeply compelling alternative to the prevailing worldview. A panel discussion will follow this screening. http://www.heart-of-sky.com/
