Brooklyn-based, New York City guitarist Michael Sheridan possesses extraordinary talent as a solo performer, with a wide repertoire that includes Spanish and classical guitar, Tango, Bossa Nova and South American-style pieces. He will be playing from his recently released album Prelude - a mix of classical and jazz arrangements, ranging from Django Reinhardt's Nuage and Montagne Sainte-Genevieve to Bach to music from Brazilian composer Heitor Villa-Lobos. Sheridan has been largely influenced by French guitarist Roland Dyens, whose Berceuse Diurne and El Choclo appear on Prelude. Self taught, Michael Sheridan has been playing since age 7 when he picked up a guitar. Years later he was guided by Phil de Fremery, an American classical guitarist who studied under Andrés Segovia and Oscar Ghiglia and now lives in Western Massachusetts. In his not-to-be-missed concert October 13, Michael Sheridan will charm the audience with his passionate, versatile and diverse classical guitar playing. Tickets $10 general / $7 seniors & students
