Science journalist and educator Marguerite Holloway will uncover at the third of the 2013 summer series of Tea and Talks at Ventfort Hall Mansion and Gilded Age Museum the life of the forgotten 19th century genius who developed Manhattan's street grid. Her illustrated talk, "The Measure of Manhattan," will be based on her new groundbreaking book titled The Measure of Manhattan: The Tumultuous Career and Surprising Legacy of John Randel, Jr., Cartographer, Surveyor, Inventor. Holloway will be on hand to lecture on Tuesday, July 2, at 4:00 PM and to autograph copies of her book at the accompanying Victorian tea.
