Ice Cream Social

There is no better way to kick off summer than with an Ice Cream Social on Chestnut Street! Come to Historic New England's Phillips House on Saturday June 2 from 1:00 - 3:00 p.m. for a make-your-own sundae party with Treadwell's ice cream and toppings, lawn games, and carriage house tours. Entertainment will be provided by the Ukulele Union of Boston through the afternoon.

The Phillips House Museum will be open for free guided tours from 11:00-4:00 as well as part of Historic New England's Open House event.

The cost for the Ice Cream Social is $2.00 for members of Historic New England and Historic Salem, Inc. and $4.00 for nonmembers. Advance registration is suggested. Please call 978-744-0440 or visit www.historicnewengland.org to reserve space.

The Phillips House is located at 34 Chestnut Street in Salem, Mass.

In 2012, we invite you to join us in the pursuit of leisure at Historic New England's Phillips House Museum. Much of our programming will look at how the family played, travelled, collected, and enjoyed the company of a large number of friends and family after they moved into 34 Chestnut Street in September of 1912. A variety of programs including walking tours, lectures, and social events will share the story of fun in the early twentieth century.
