John Pinto, Howard Crosby Butler Memorial Professor of Art and Archaeology Emeritus, Princeton University, will deliver a lecture entitled Rome: The Greatest Theatre in the World. His research focuses on architecture, landscape, and urbanism in Rome, particularly in the 18th century. This lecture is presented in conjunction with the Smith College Museum of Art's upcoming exhibition, When in Rome: Prints and Photographs, 1550¬-1900. This event will take place in Weinstein Auditorium (in Wright Hall) at Smith College. Doors will open at 6:30 and the lecture will begin at 7:00 PM. The lecture is free and open to the public.
