Stone Hill hosts a wide diversity of plant communities ranging from open meadows and wetland marshes, to young woodlands and maturing deciduous forests, and even ancient Eastern hemlock groves. Join Williams College Biology and Environmental Studies Professor Hank Art in a botanical foray exploring the flora of Stone Hill. The excursion will examine how to identify the most common species and to explore why species are found where they are. No previous botanical experience necessary and all ages are welcome. Meet at the entrance of the Lunder Center at Stone Hill at 10:30 AM. It is recommended that you wear shoes that are appropriate for hiking on our trails, which cover varied terrain. Free with paid admission.
