Whatever your favorite ice cream, it will taste better from a handmade cup and spoon. Using thick gauge copper rod and sheet metal, students will learn basic sheet metal construction and hammering techniques such as spreading, tapering, thickening, raising, sinking, and planishing. See how malleable and strong metal can be while creating your personal ice cream bowl. No experience necessary, but be prepared: hammering is strenuous.

** This workshop is part of Farm-to-Studio week. All workshops have a food/craft connection and on Wednesday afternoon there will be hands-on culinary instruction from local farmers and food entrepreneurs in Western MA. Plus, on Friday night - a farm-fresh dinner under the stars. For foodies who want to expand their local table. For artist with an appetite for handmade and home grown. For anyone who wants evocative conversation in a creative community.
