Enrichment fun in celebration of St. Patrick's Day

Visit Franklin Park Zoo on Sunday, March 15 and watch as some of the animals receive green-themed enrichment items in celebration of St. Patrick's Day. The animal enrichment is scheduled as follows:
10:00 a.m. - Gorilla exhibit
11:00 a.m. - Giant anteater exhibit
11:30 a.m. - Pygmy hippopotamus exhibit
1:30 p.m. - Camel exhibit

Enrichment can be offered in a variety of different ways and zookeepers use novelty foods, sounds, smells, boxes, bags, and toys to provide activities that excite all the senses. Environmental enrichment encourages animals to use their natural abilities and behaviors to interact with their environment.
