Skiers race up, and down the precipitous east face of Massachusetts tallest peak, Mount Greylock in Adams. The historic Thunderbolt Ski Trail was originally cut in the 1930s and was home to world class ski races for decades. Today it is a considered a backcountry classic for its tough uphill trek and fast and tricky Class A downhill run. Spectators are welcome to view the race from Greylock Glen at the foot of the mountain. Free shuttles from downtown Adams.
Following the race in the afternoon, join the fun at ThunderFest in downtown Adams, a celebration of winter recreation in the Berkshires. Live music, local food and beer, recreation vendors. Free admission!
