Riverfest, Shelburne Falls

This festival celebrates the Deerfield River. Attracting people from all over New England, visitors can enjoy entertainment, educational displays and demonstrations, arts, crafts, and food vendors. Visitors can also try some quiet-water rafting, join a guided hike on one of the watershed's scenic trails, and ride an 1896 trolley car (all weekend long).

Annual Oak Bluffs Summer Solstice Celebration

Oak Bluffs welcomes the arrival of summer at its second annual solstice celebration with music, arts, crafts and lots of family fun in the lingering twilight of the year's longest day. Admission is free, all are welcome!

This two day event is an internationally recognized folk music and arts festival. Hosted by the town of New Bedford and The Standard-Times, the festival has six stages throughout the National Park ranging from 1,200 seats to smaller and more intimate stages for performances.

The Lowell Folk Festival, Lowell

This three day festival is the largest free folk festival in the United States. The festival includes delicious cuisines, children's activities, and live bands throughout the downtown ending with an evening parade on the final day.

August Moon Festival, Chinatown Boston
8/15, 10am - 5pm

Boston's Chinatown stages one of its largest events, the August Moon Festival, held around the Chinatown Gateway arch on Harrison Avenue. The celebration is traditionally a time for people to gather for moon-watching parties, with children carrying brightly coloured lanterns. Vendor booths, Chinese Dough Art, Chinese Opera, Children's Chinese folk dance, Martial Arts Performance, Lion Dance.

Salem Jazz & Soul Festival, Salem
8/21 - 8/22

The Salem Jazz and Soul Festival recreates and renews the vibrant jazz scene that began at the Salem Willows in the 1920s, when Duke Ellington and other musicians from the Big Band era played at the seaside park in Massachusetts. Free, family-friendly event features 2 days of live music, music education, classes, kid's play tent and more.
