Historic house museum preserving the material possessions and papers of six generations of one of Hadley's founding families. Tours and interpretations of the site, the largest farmstead in Hampshire County at the turn of the 19th C., the house and its contents. Special programs: Wednesday Folk Traditions concert series in June and July; Saturday afternoon tea series with music in July and August; Community Days, and more. An extensive collection of family papers are available to researchers at Amherst College Archive and Special Collections. The recent book Earthbound and Heavenbent by Elizabeth Pendergst Carlisle is a biography of Elizabeth Porter Phelps and tells the story of the family farm and the first three generations of the family.
