The Trustees have launched a Signature Chef Series at Boston Public Market’s KITCHEN, and foodies are taking notice.
Since opening in August 2015, The KITCHEN at The Boston Public Market, operated by The Trustees, Massachusetts’ largest conservation and preservation nonprofit, has developed educational and entertaining programs aimed at restoring the craft of seasonal cooking and sharing the stories of Massachusetts farmers and food artisans. This winter, The KITCHEN launched a new Signature Chef Series to showcase esteemed Boston chefs and their relationships with the Massachusetts farmers, fishermen, and food artisans they source from.
The first Signature Chef Series dinner in February with renowned Chef-Owner Jose Duarte of Taranta in Boston’s North End, a sustainable restaurant was a great success, with an entirely seasonal and local menu sourced from the Boston Public Market vendors and food artisans. The multi-course demo and dinner was inspired by Jose’s Peruvian heritage and mastery of Italian culinary traditions and also included pairings with New England craft beers from the Market’s Hopster’s Alley and wine selections from the Massachusetts Wine Shop.

The series continues on Thursday, April 13 with Chef Carl Dooley, Executive Chef of The Table in Cambridge. Carl Dooley was a competitor on last year’s Season 13 of Top Chef and Tony Maws’ Chef de Cuisine at Craigie on Main from 2012-2015, where he earned a “Rising Star Chef” award in 2015. On Saturday, May 13, The KITCHEN welcomes Chef Matthew Jennings, Chef and Ownerof Townsman Boston. With four James Beard Foundation Award nominations for Best Chef: Northeast, three Cochon 555 wins, and a spot on Food & Wine’s “40 Under 40 Big Thinkers In America” list, Chef Matt Jennings is recognized nationally for his bold, lusty cooking and dedication to New England locality through artisan and seasonal ingredients.
