Hang on to your seats, and get ready for thrills, chills and even a couple of spills as the Polartec Big Air event comes to Fenway Park on February 11-12.
Organized by Fenway Sports Management and the U.S. Ski and Snowboard Association, the U.S. Gran Prix event takes place on a 140 foot high snow ramp, and features top athletes from around the world, including Olympic and World Champions.
Among the champions expected to compete: U.S. Olympic slopestyle skiing gold medalist Joss Christensen, slopestyle snowboarding Olympic champion Sage Kotsenburg and Olympian Ty Walker.
More good news: the men’s and women’s big air snowboarding competition is debuting at the 2018 Winter Olympics in PyeongChang, South Korea, those attending the Fenway event get to see some of the top contenders for Olympic gold!
The sponsor for Big Air is local company Polartec. Based in Lawrence, Polartec has been making some of the best ski and snowboard gear since it invented synthetic fleece back in 1981.
